With Audi’s goal of achieving an all-electric production line by 2026, the new R8 Coupé V10 performance RWD flagship will be the last of its kind. The versatile rear-wheel drive, mid-engine sports car is now 30 hp more powerful, with numerous new tech features including bucket seats, dynamic steering, CFRP stabilizer and ceramic brakes.
For thrill-seekers, the R8 V10 is capable of rapidly accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h within 3.7 seconds, ultimately reaching max speeds at 329 km/h. Its naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V1- FSI engine delivers an immense 419 kW and maximum 550 newton metres of torque, which is then conveyed to the rear wheels through a sleek seven-speed S tronic transmission. Its suspension and driving dynamics also ensure that controlled drifts are made possible.
In terms of build, it only weighs 1,590 kg, owing to its aluminium body and its carbon fibre-reinforced plastic in the Audi Space Frame design. Audi lovers may also find its sporty, sleek design familiar – as it is based on its other GT4 range.
