Wished your nose wasn’t so flat or crooked?

Non surgical nose enhancement may be a good option especially for those who feel plastic surgery is not right for them. By using a dermal filler, doctors can now reshape and contour your nose to achieve results that were previously only ever possible with plastic surgery.

Non-surgical nose enhancement cannot replace a traditional rhinoplasty if your deformity is significant or the nose needs to be reduced in size. It is, however, an effective method for minor enhancements or corrections of some deformities of the nose especially following a previous rhinoplasty when you may want to avoid a further revision surgery. It is cannot create a big result, only subtle enhancements.

So Orientals who want a very sharp nose, may not be able to achieve this with a filler; fillers cannot create a sharp effect as they are very soft. The results are natural and balanced without having to undergo any invasive surgery. It is a great way to correct some smaller issues with great results and is often a huge confidence booster for patients. Non-surgical nose shaping will enhance the appearance of the nose ensuring that it is more aesthetically balanced with your features.

The advantage of non-surgical nose enhancement is that the procedure is quick. It only takes around 30 minutes to do the procedure and downtime is around two days. The patient should avoid pressure on the nose for five days, so for example, avoid sleeping on the front or side or going for beauty treatments that involve massaging the nose. Minimal bruising may occur which usually resolves in five to seven days. The nose may be tender for three to five days following treatment.

The results of non-surgical nose enhancements will last from six to 18 months in general, depending on the type of fillers used. The fillers are generally safe, although there are people who may be allergic to the material used. I would not advise people who have a known allergy or those with an immune problem to opt for non-surgical enhancement, although this is very rare.

Should a patient discover an allergy after the procedure, this can be treated with an antidote or steroid injection, and the filler can be removed.

Although non-surgical nose reshaping may seem to be a simple procedure, it is important to find a doctor with experience in this because it’s not just to fill up the nose; what is important is the aesthetic outcome. So it’s good to find a doctor who has a lot of experience doing nose jobs. Plastic surgeons are good at that, as we are always doing beautification and reconstruction work on the nose so we have a lot of experience on the aesthetic element.
